State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council: Further mobilize the strength of central enterprises to do a good job in flood control and disaster relief, recovery

  Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, August 16 (Reporter Wang Xi) The State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council recently proposed that it will further fully mobilize the strength of central enterprises to do a good job in flood control, emergency rescue and disaster relief, recovery and reconstruction, and make new and greater contributions to ensuring people’s lives and property safety and healthy economic and social development.

  The reporter learned from the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council that the Party Committee of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council recently held an enlarged meeting to implement the decision-making arrangements made by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council. On the basis of the previous work, the State-owned central enterprises were mobilized and redeployed to do a good job in fighting floods, flood control and disaster relief, and actively ensuring the smooth flow of infrastructure such as transportation, communication and electricity.

  At this meeting, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council asked the central enterprises to strengthen risk judgment, make emergency preparations, pay close attention to key parts, and pay special attention to the safety threats of natural disasters such as mountain torrents, landslides and mudslides to field construction and road transportation, as well as the impacts of extreme weather such as heavy rainfall on electric power, communication and water conservancy.

  In terms of doing a good job in emergency rescue and disaster relief, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council proposed that it will continue to urge central enterprises to actively participate in emergency repair of important facilities, emergency rescue of important points, repair and guarantee of important infrastructure, and at the same time prevent secondary accidents; State-owned central enterprises are required to continue to strengthen communication with local party committees and governments, keep abreast of local disaster relief needs, and coordinate in all rescue and disaster relief work.

  In addition, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council emphasized that central enterprises should actively participate in post-disaster recovery and reconstruction in accordance with the unified deployment requirements of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, strengthen related work such as ensuring the supply and price stability of important living materials, and better demonstrate the responsibility of state-owned central enterprises.

  It is understood that the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council has organized central enterprises in key fields such as electric power, communication and construction to actively participate in emergency rescue and disaster relief in severely affected areas such as Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei and Heilongjiang, and has invested a total of 420,000 person-times and 140,000 sub-equipment vehicles to participate in river bank reinforcement, road rushing, railway repair, mass transfer and resettlement, professional guidance on disaster relief, emergency repair and recovery of power communication facilities and emergency support.
