For ten years, repeatedly measuring, calculating and adjusting, these boring and monotonous data became his most important job. Ten years has brought millions of data, and this database is the most important support for installing aircraft carrier interceptors.
The aircraft carrier blocker is a device to help the carrier-based aircraft land, that is, it pulls the landing carrier-based aircraft with a steel cable. When the carrier-based aircraft lands, it is accelerated to ensure that it can go around at any time. Therefore, it is very important to stop the carrier-based aircraft weighing more than 20 tons and with a speed of up to 250 kilometers per hour on the deck of 200 meters in three seconds.
If you think of the blocking cable as a rubber band on a slingshot, the blocking machine is the slingshot base that fixes the rubber band. However, the material of the blocking cable is not flexible like a rubber band, and it depends on the guide rail of the blocking machine to help it achieve the buffering and pulling effect like a rubber band. If the guide rail is not smooth at all during operation, it may lead to serious accidents.

The aircraft carrier blocker is a large-scale equipment occupying the whole stern. Each guide rail is tens of meters long, and the horizontal accuracy per meter must not exceed one-sixth of the error of a hair. In order to meet such demanding accuracy requirements, it must be achieved by cable measurement.
Due to the uneven stress requirements of the blocking cable on the guide rail, all the stress nodes will have different values. In order to meet the accuracy requirements, Dai Zhentao must consider the whole plane, straight line, symmetry and levelness at each installation point, which requires a lot of measurement data as support.
In order to get the most accurate data, Dai Zhentao needs two hours for each measurement, at least seven times a day, and two of them can only be measured in the early morning when the temperature is relatively constant.
Time has brought millions of data, and this database is the most important support for installing the blocking machine. Next, he has to do a lot of complicated calculations to find an accurate installation parameter, and then use the gasket to adjust the accuracy according to this parameter.
On November 23, 2012, the J-15 fighter plane was firmly pulled by the blocking cable on the deck of the Liaoning ship for the first time and successfully landed. From then on, China naval air force camped on the first aircraft carrier in China, and the Liaoning ship with carrier-based combat effectiveness became a real aircraft carrier.
