Samsung and Anba reached a cooperation to mass-produce the autopilot chip CV3-AD685 for the latter on the 5-nanometer process.

On February 21 ST, Samsung officially announced on Tuesday that it had reached a cooperation with American chip design company Ambarella.The chip is mass-produced for the latter in the 5-nanometer process, which is used to support the auto-driving function of the car.

Samsung officially said that the CV3-AD685 system on a chip (SoC) developed by Anba can act as the "brain" of self-driving cars, and its performance is 20 times that of the previous CV2. It reads and analyzes the input data from the camera and radar, and automatically selects the appropriate driving mode.

Samsung said in an official press release: "This cooperation will help to change the safety system of the next generation of self-driving cars and raise the processing performance, power and reliability of artificial intelligence to a new level."

IT House also learned from the Samsung press release that the company plans that by 2027,Non-mobile products account for more than 50% of its wafer foundry business or contract chip production business income.
